Mark has been with RJ Telecommunications since 2004, when he started as a ground tech at 17 years old. In the past five years, Mark has helped RJ transition from an outdated sales and installation-based company model to a highly efficient, polished, and competitive voice and data service provider. He is now the president and proud owner of RJ Telecommunications, and plans to take RJ even farther to become a locally known and trusted asset in the business voice and data world.

Office Manager / Controller
As RJ's Office Manager and Controller, Emily draws on her previous experience in customer service and retail management. She is the first person you talk to when calling RJ and ensures that your call is handled with care. She works to keep the office running smoothly and assists other team members wherever possible.

Eric Steve
Systems Engineer
Eric began working in IT when he was a new student at Michigan Tech, where he learned to manage and configure Linux servers and lab computers, troubleshoot hardware problems, and design apps with audio processing, machine learning, and map updating. He moved on to work as an embedded Linux software engineer for two years before coming to RJ. In his current role as Systems Engineer, Eric lends his previous knowledge and a knack for learning new skills to the ever-changing world of telecommunications.

Technician
Jack joined our team at the close of 2024 as a field technician. Growing up in a family of tradesmen, he developed a strong work ethic and a passion for craftsmanship, which perfectly aligns with our "Customer Service First" philosophy. With many years of experience in customer service, Jack has consistently embraced leadership opportunities and excelled in task management. A proud graduate of the University of Toledo with a BBA in Information Systems, Jack continues to expand on this solid foundation through his work at RJ. Thanks to his customer service expertise and unwavering dedication, he has quickly become a valuable and essential member of our team.

A new Network & Systems Engineer joined RJ. His networking expertise, vast knowledge of coding languages, and his ability to learn new coding languages pushed RJ’s VOIP services in a much-needed step forward.

With RJ’s shift from traditional phone systems to VOIP, the company saw major growth. Current customers were converted to VOIP, and new customers were brought on thanks to word-of-mouth recommendations and outsides sales reps. This transition was made easier due to the RJ Team’s expansive knowledge of the legacy PBX system.

With Nortel’s downfall in 2013, RJ needed to shift gears to ensure its longevity as a company. To accomplish this shift, RJ invested in colocation space in Southfield, Michigan and became a VOIP supplier, connecting customers with on-site VOIP systems and remote phone system configurations. RJ’s first test as a VOIP supplier was to connect a customer’s Nortel Option switch with their phone system in Honduras. RJ found a way to accomplish this and saved the customer thousands in international communication.

As the economy fluctuated in the early 2000s, the telecommunications industry saw many ups and downs. However, thanks to RJ’s reputation in customer service and phone systems, RJ continued to maintain large Nortel systems and receive cabling projects during this time.

RJ Telecommunications grew as a company, adding customers such as the Oakland Press and Easter Seals of Michigan. RJ started to become recognized as a reliable telecommunications and cabling company in southeastern Michigan.

Robert Jenereaux founded RJ Telecommunications as a low voltage cabling company and Nortel phone system installer and maintenance provider.
